In 2023, I co-produced This is Not a Scarf, an experimental documentary film with Soha Zandi, critiquing the persistent politicization of women’s bodies in Iran. By juxtaposing archival footage from the 1979 revolution with scenes from the recent women-led uprising, the film foreshadows the tragic story of Yalda Aghafazli, one of many courageous women in the Women, Life, Freedom movement. This project aligns with my research on Iranian women and the intersections of feminism, politics, and identity.
